CraftyBase is a great tool for craft makers and Etsy sellers. They've added batch tracking and production scheduling on higher plans, but when your business needs full MRP, accounting integration, multi-location inventory, and dedicated support, you need real manufacturing software.

CraftyBase now offers production scheduling on their Business plan ($199/mo), but still has no MRP, no demand planning, and no work orders on lower plans. There's no way to run MRP calculations, plan production based on demand forecasts, or manage a shop floor. Their Pro ($24/mo), Studio ($49/mo), and Indie ($99/mo) plans have no production scheduling at all.
"It's great for tracking materials and costs for my Etsy shop, but once I started hiring people and running production batches, I needed something more." — CraftyBase user review
CraftyBase now offers batch/lot tracking, but only on their Business plan at $199/mo — the same price as Brahmin's starting tier. On Brahmin, lot traceability is available as a $75/mo add-on on any plan or included on Pro. CraftyBase's lower-tier plans (Pro, Studio, Indie) have no lot tracking at all, and even the Business plan lacks one-click recall reports and full lot genealogy.
"I needed lot tracking but couldn't justify paying for CraftyBase Business when I could get a full MRP system for the same price." — Reddit user
CraftyBase now offers unlimited integrations on Studio+ plans for sales channels like Etsy and Shopify. But there's still no native integration with QuickBooks, Xero, or any accounting software. No ShipStation, no Faire, no SPS Commerce. You're still manually entering data in two systems — or exporting CSVs and hoping nothing breaks.
"I wish CraftyBase connected to QuickBooks. I spend hours every week re-entering data." — Capterra review
CraftyBase was purpose-built for Etsy sellers and craft makers. They've added more features on higher plans (batch tracking and production scheduling on Business at $199/mo), but it still doesn't scale to multi-location inventory, multi-level BOMs, warehouse management, or barcode scanning. And by the time you reach their Business plan, you're paying the same as Brahmin — without getting MRP, accounting integration, or a mobile app.
"CraftyBase was perfect when I was making candles in my kitchen. But now that I have a warehouse and 8 employees, I need real manufacturing software." — Reddit user
Manufacturing software that scales with your business — from first production run to $50M+ in revenue.
Brahmin includes multi-level BOMs, work orders, production scheduling, and MRP demand planning. Whether you're making 50 units or 50,000, the system grows with you — from startup to $50M+ in revenue.
Full forward and backward lot genealogy from raw material supplier to finished product customer. One-click recall reports tell you exactly which lots, units, and customers are affected — in minutes, not days. Available as a $75/mo add-on or included on Pro. CraftyBase offers basic batch tracking only on their $199/mo Business plan — with no recall reports or full genealogy.
QuickBooks, Xero, Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Faire, SPS Commerce, and ShipStation — all native, all included on every plan. Plus Zapier integration for order sync. CraftyBase offers unlimited sales channel integrations on Studio+ plans, but still has no accounting, shipping, or EDI integrations.
Every Brahmin customer gets a dedicated implementation manager, unlimited training calls, and support that responds in under 15 minutes. Go live in 3–6 weeks with someone who knows your business by name. CraftyBase offers email-only support (priority support on their $349/mo Growth plan).

CraftyBase was purpose-built for Etsy sellers, craft makers, and small-batch DTC brands. It handles material costing and basic inventory well for that audience, but does not offer MRP, demand planning, or shop floor management. Brahmin Solutions is built for manufacturers with production workflows, multi-level BOMs, and full MRP starting at $199/month.
CraftyBase added batch/lot tracking, but only on their Business plan at $199/month — the same price as Brahmin's starting tier. Lower plans have no lot tracking at all. Even on Business, CraftyBase lacks one-click recall reports and full forward/backward lot genealogy. Brahmin Solutions offers lot traceability with complete supplier-to-customer trace chains that meet FSMA, SQF, and BRCGS audit requirements.
CraftyBase offers a QuickBooks Online integration, but it is limited: PO sync and COGS journal entries are only available on the Growth plan (their highest tier), the integration is in beta, and it is restricted to US-based customers only. There is no Xero integration. Brahmin Solutions includes native QuickBooks Online and Xero sync on every plan.
CraftyBase starts lower at ~$24/month (Pro), but production scheduling and lot tracking are locked behind the $199/month Business plan — the same price as Brahmin's starting tier. At that price, Brahmin includes full MRP, native accounting integration, a B2B portal, mobile app, and unlimited users. CraftyBase charges based on order volume tiers, so costs scale as you grow.
If you have hired production staff, manage multiple product lines, need multi-location inventory, require accounting integration, or face compliance audits requiring lot traceability, you have outgrown CraftyBase. Brahmin supports manufacturers from startup through $50M+ in revenue with a dedicated implementation manager and 3–6 week go-live timeline.
